Your Wild Soul: A Mythic Meditation with Asher Packman

  • Bamboo Yoga School 74-78 Bangalow Road Byron Bay, NSW, 2481 Australia (map)

Story is stitched intrinsically into the fabric of our psyche. Our minds are not linear, but narrative. Mythology helps us understand ourselves as part of the human story by putting us directly in touch with our deepest self. Meditating on these ancient stories allows us to turn inward, make meaning, and come home to our wild soul.

It is the yoga of imagination.

The original definition of ‘myth’ is ‘deep underlying truth’. Isn’t it interesting just how far we have strayed from this understanding in the new world of mis- and dis-information? The loss of mythical thinking – our active imagination – has created a pandemic of literalism and a polarity between rigid ideas of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ that we find very difficult to bridge. Much like meditation, listening to ancient story builds our ability to sit in the liminal space between this tension of opposites.

As we approach Valentine’s Day this year, please join master storyteller and Meditation Australia president, Asher Packman, as he puts a contemporary twist on the ancient love story of Psyche & Eros – offered alongside meditation, breathwork and soul-nourishing conversation.

We look forward to seeing you there – not ‘once upon’ a time, but perhaps inside it.
